Dementia


In general, dementia in people with intellectual disabilities has many similarities with dementia among others. But there are also differences. Thus, dementia in people with intellectual disabilities occurs more often and more often than in people without limitations. For example:

  1. More than half of people with Downs syndrome older than 40 years are affected by dementia (mainly due to Alzheimer's disease)
  2.
