 For parents, caregivers, health care providers, and teachers, concerns and questions often arise regarding the care and well-being of individuals with Pitt-Hopkins syndrome. 

How often does epilepsy occur? Which forms of epilepsy occur? Should an EEG always be made? Which medications work best? Are there special sleeping problems that occur?

EEG studies should only be carried out when there are clear seizures or when one remains in doubt if someone with PTHS shows seizures or apnoea’s.

MRIs need only be carried out if there are neurological signs and symptoms that this would be useful. Microcephaly (small head) on its own does not mean a child should have an MRI.
