Insecurity

Many children with WBS struggle with insecurity. For example, about their delayed motor skills, which makes them feel they cannot ‘keep up’ well.

They are also often insecure in social relationships, which manifests itself in wanting to be liked and taking a keen interest in the welfare of others. Because they sometimes have difficulty performing ‘school tasks’, they may doubt their own abilities or suffer from fear of failure. They struggle with ‘order’ in all areas.

They know the details, but overseeing the whole does not come naturally. This too can lead to insecurity.
