As an adult

The life expectancy of children with Williams syndrome is almost normal. Only in children with severe heart or kidney problems can life expectancy be shortened. A fully independent life is rarely achievable. Most adults with WBS live with their parents or in a residential institution, such as a living group. Some adults with WBS can function in a sheltered workshop.
