Child phase

Childhood age

Physical symptoms due to MSS often get worse between the ages of 8 and 10. Muscle weakness becomes more pronounced as children become more active. The spine often becomes more curved in children who suddenly grow very fast (a growth spurt). Finally, bones begin to decalcify at this age.

There are also symptoms of MSS that get slightly better from this stage of life. Respiratory problems, for example, decrease slightly with age. Sometimes this is only temporary. The symptoms may then increase slightly again later.
