Some background on photo's

Please be awere on what photo's (or illustrations) that you want to use on WaihonaPedia.
As a moderator you should understand the relation between the dimensions (Width and Height) of your photo and where you want to use it.

  • 16 x 9 (almost always OK)
  • Banner
  • Portrait

16 x 9

This format is most used as how we present the photo. We even order the software to present the photo's in this format, especially on the pages generated by DATA instead of typed by a content-manager. This means that any photo not in this dimension will be 'framed'. Meaning the software will hide the sides of the photo that do not comply to the dimension. It is therefore important that the subject you want to show is somewhat in this dimension.

On WaihonaPedia we do hardly use this format in the software, but especially on making information more eye-cathing it will be used by content-managers. We therefore suggest you only attach these images to the page where used, not in the central photo-library.
The format is that Width is significantly bigger compared to Height

Portait

On WaihonaPedia we do hardly use this format in the software, the only exception is the avatar (user or PWS photos) that is uploaded by the family.
In a portrait width is equal or smaller as height. In WaihonaPedia this differnce should not be too much as we use a round circle to present avatar-images

How do we attach a Photo-libary to a 'disease'

When you look down on this page you will probably see some tabs

One of these tabs will be labelled 'Attachments'

Click this tab;

  • there is a list of the photo's already uploaded; if empty then no uploads yet
  • and you will see a button to 'select files'

With the dialog that will appear your can upload ONE ore many photo's or illustrations by selecting the photofiles from one of your locations that you have on your computer or smart phone
