When a child lives at home...
Some children with MSS live at home, others in an adapted residential setting. This depends on the amount of care and supervision needed. But also on the parents' preference and how much care they can take on.
If a child does not live at home...
Children living in specialised institutions are also offered day care on site.
At a day centre for children with severe multiple disabilities (SMD), the group structure resembles that of regular primary school as much as possible. The division is in fact based on age. Of course, experts also look at a child's personal abilities when making the group allocation.
