What is Pitt-Hopkins syndrome?

For parents, caregivers, health care providers, and teachers, concerns and questions often arise regarding the care and well-being of individuals with Pitt-Hopkins syndrome.

Pitt-Hopkins syndrome (PTHS) is a rare genetic disorder. It causes problems in the development of the nervous system, leading to abnormal brain function. People with Pitt-Hopkins look different, think differently and behave differently. These characteristic differences are caused by changes in the DNA.
